David Joseph Denby Sr., 80, a longtime resident of Port Huron passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
He was born on March 22, 1945 and raised in Port Huron. He was the cherished son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Denby.
David served his country honorably in the United States Army in 1964. After his service he held a long-standing career of 30 years working as a carrier for the United States Postal Service.
He was a long time member of the American Legion in Port Huron.
In his free time, David loved being outdoors, traveling and going camping and relaxing on the beach. He also had a love for dressing up in costumes for Halloween and the Michigan Renaissance Festival.
David is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Ashley Denby (Matt Makowski) of Fort Gratiot; his grandchildren, Mason Denby, and Lilia Makowski, and Michelle Parker of Port Huron; and his brother, William (Virginia) Denby.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Denby.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Blue Water Hospice Home, 2975 Edison Drive, Marysville, MI 48001
Arrangements were entrusted to Grace Memorial-Smith Chapel.
