John Lee Cribbs

74, of Kimball Township, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020, at McLaren Port Huron Hospital.

He was born in Copemish, Michigan on March 2, 1946, son of the late Charles Cribbs and Barbara Stiles.

He married Marilyn J. Phetteplace on June 27, 1964, in Port Huron. Marilyn passed away on October 10, 2012.

John owned and operated Cribbs Masonry for over 40 years. He liked hunting, fishing, traveling up north, and most importantly spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Brenda (Frank) Nolfo, Deborah (Dale) Drouillard, and Michael (Christina) Cribbs all of Kimball, eight grandchildren, Ryan Ware, James Monzo, Michael (Nicole) Cribbs Jr., Stephanie and Vanessa Drouillard, Paige and Brooke Nolfo, and Gabrielle Cribbs; five great-grandchildren, Presten, Garrett, Maddi, Liam, and Lilly; siblings, Charles, Nancy, Robin, Steve, Sandy, Mark, and Kim; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Lee Cribbs Jr.; step-father, Robert Gibbs; brother, Jack Cribbs; mother, Barbara Gibbs; father-in-law, George Phetteplace; mother-in-law, Ethel Phetteplace; and brother-in-law, Gary Phetteplace.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home-Hancock Street. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Dan Bakay will officiate. The funeral service will be live streamed on our website under John's obituary due to the restriction of 25 people in our facility. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorials Gardens in Fort Gratiot.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
