John H. Burde, III, age 74 of Carbondale, passed away, Tuesday, August 24, 2021 in Linda White Hospice House, Evansville, IN.
He was born to John and Evelyn (Smith) Burde, Jr., in Port Huron, MI on November 29, 1946.
On May 19, 1975 he married Beverly Jo Thaldorf. They shared 36 years of making wonderful memories. She preceded him on August 27, 2011.
John received his Bachelor’s and Masters at Michigan State University. He received his PHD at the University of Arizona.
He was a world traveler; loved camping and was a sports enthusiasts. He was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Carbondale.
He loved his dog, Wee Jock, very much.
John is survived by his two sons, Jared Burde of Carbondale and Joel Burde (fiancé, Danielle Medley) of Owensboro, KY; a sister, Lucy Burde of Carbondale; other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Beverly.
Funeral Services for John H. Burde, III will be Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00 am in Grace United Methodist Church in Carbondale with Rev. Jungil Rhee officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am at the church until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to Linda White Hospice House and/or American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral services.
