John F. Adams II, 77, of Elkhorn, Wisconsin area passed away at his home on December 20th, 2023.

John was born in Port Huron, Michigan to the late John and Dorothy Adams on January 19, 1946.  John was one of five children that John and Dorothy would have.  John graduated from Port Huron High School in the spring of 1964.  He entered into the United States Air Force 1966 where he would serve our great country until 1970.  In winter of 1974 he graduated from The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University.  In the fall of 1974, on October 26th, John would be united into marriage to Martha Gauss in Lansing, Michigan.

John had many interests and hobbies.  He loved to go metal detecting and was an avid coin collector.  He loved a good round of golf, a hand of cards, playing online poker, but was most passionate about spending time baking and grilling for family and friends.  John was a loving husband, a fantastic father, and an amazing grandfather who would spend all the time he could with his amazing grandkids.  His first career in hospitality, he successfully turned around hotel and resort properties.  John was proud of everything he accomplished in his life but was most proud of his second career, co-founder of the Lake Geneva Pie Company in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin with his wife (2001-2021).  

John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Martha.  Two children: Jennifer Adams and John (Jodie) Adams III along with 5 grandchildren:  Layla, Parker, Fitch (John IV), Janna, & Jane also survive John.  Three sisters: Linda (Steve) Necimias, Sally (David) Adams-Krinkle, and Mary Jane Adams along with one brother: Clifford (Kathy) Adams all survive John.

Services for John will be held on Saturday January 6th, 2023 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.  Visitation will be held on Friday January 5th, 2024 from the hours of 2:00pm till 4:00pm n the main chapel of Derrick Funeral Home.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has asked that you donate in John's name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
