Robert Allen Vanderpool, 72, of Port Huron, passed away on September 29, 2018 in Medilodge of Port Huron after a short illness with his family by his side.
He was born on April 12, 1946 in Port Huron, son of the late Arnold and Waneta Vanderpool.
Robert married Marylou Hubble on August 28, 1964 in Port Huron. She passed away on August 9, 2010.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and watching sports. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Sherry) Vanderpool; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra (Richard) Mile and son, Jeffery Vanderpool; grandchildren: Stephen Moreau, Blake Moreau, Shyann Moreau, Jordan (Bryce) Wheeler, Kelly Vanderpool, Brett Vanderpool, Casey Vanderpool, Aaron Vanderpool, Skylar Munger, Shane Vanderpool, Alexis Vanderpool, Troy Vanderpool and Madison Vanderpool; eight great-grandchildren; brother, William Vanderpool; Darlene (Gordon) Meadows and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave., Port Huron. Minister Shaun Laurain will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. 
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday prior to services from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Vanderpool, Robert Vanderpool, Stephen Moreau, Blake Moreau, Aaron Vanderpool and Brett Vanderpool. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy and Shane Vanderpool.
