We are sad to announce the passing of Michael Davis Bonner (76) of Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday, October 8, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on October 12, 1946 in Houghton, Michigan to Constance Knowles and Davis Bonner.

He attended Port Huron Area Schools and graduated from high school in 1964. Immediately, following his high school graduation he received parental consent to enlist at the age of 17 year’s old with the United States Marine Corp. He served active duty from 1964 to 1968 while stationed in Yuma, Arizona and later deployed to “Monkey Mountain” in Vietnam under Operations against Guerrilla Forces in 1965. The medals, awards, badges and campaign awards included Rifle M14 Expert Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal 3 stars, Vietnam campaign Metal with “60” device and the completion of NCO Leadership school in 1966.
Upon being honorably discharged he worked in sales for Montgomery Wards in various cities in Michigan and Ohio. He later returned to his hometown and was employed by Kerr Albert. Ultimately, he became a co-owner of TimeTrak Systems, until his retirement in October of 2011.
Mike married Amelia (Dortman) Bonner on March 6, 1967 and remained happily married until her death in January of 2020. Mike is survived by his children, Tracy (Bradley) Borowiak, Jeffrey (Amy) Bonner, and Corey (Haley) Bonner; siblings Michael (Peggy) Knowles, Stephen (Pam) Bonner, Peter (Elba) Bonner; twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild; and his nieces and nephews.
In lieu of a funeral service a private celebration of life with close family will follow.
