Robert Thomas "Bob" Westphal

May 19, 1946 ~ April 12, 2022 (age 75)

Bob Westphal, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away Tuesday April 12,2022 after many years of long-term health problems. He was born and raised in Port Huron, MI, graduating from Port Huron High School in 1964. Growing up, Bob was very athletic, participating in many sports including bowling, golf, and his favorite, baseball. Shortly after high school Bob enlisted in the United States Airforce, where he was stationed at Mountain Home, Idaho and was honorably discharged in 1966. Not long after arriving in Idaho he met Darlene Fail. Their mutual love of dancing (or perhaps his fast car) brought them together, and they later married. Four children were born from this union – Susan ReNae, Jason Robert (infant son), Elizabeth Elaine, and Troy Jacob. Later, he went on to marry Emily Harris and helped raise two stepsons Joey and Donald, as well. After the boys were raised, they moved to Gresham, OR where Bob eventually retired from Fujitzu computer chip manufacturing, and then later moved back to Nampa.

Bob finally married the love of his life, Carol Braun Jones, in 2002. Together they embarked on many wonderful adventures, including attending the Masters Golf tournament in 2004, which was a great highlight for both of them. They later settled into becoming annual summer campground hosts at Warm Lake in central Idaho, and wintering in Apache Junction, AZ. Bob and Carol have also been very active in the Nampa Elks Lodge 1389, where Bob has held several titles and received many honors over the years, including Exalted Ruler, Elk of the Year, and Officer of the Year.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Albert (Bob) and Mildred Westphal and Infant son Jason Westphal. He is survived by wife Carol Westphal, sister Beverly Rybarczyk (Conrad), children Susan Westphal-Beale (Scott), Elizabeth Frederick (Wyatt), Troy Westphal, Joey Harris, Donald Harris, and Leslie Davis (Chris), 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

Services are under the direction of Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Graveside services for friends and family will be held Tuesday April 19th at 11:00am at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 15862 Indiana Ave, Caldwell.  A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the Nampa Elks lodge 1116 1st St. So, Nampa.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Nampa Elks Lodge #1389 in Bob’s honor.
