Janet Louise Buntebart, 75, of Leander, TX, passed away on April 11, 2022, at Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital in Round Rock, TX, from complications following surgery.Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 12th, 2022, at Christ Episcopal Church, located at 3520 W. Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park, TX 78613. Reverend Richard E. Pelkey and the Reverend Jan Halstead will be officiating.

Janet was born in Port Huron, MI to Mildred and Fred Buntebart on May 18, 1946. She went to school at Port Huron High School, graduating in 1964. After attending Port Huron Junior College for a couple of years, she moved to Washington D.C and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at George Washington University in 1968, where she was also a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. Jan worked for over 30 years in the U.S Department of Education in Federal Student Aid. She was also deeply involved in her religious teachings and earned a clerical degree after her retirement.

Jan was well known in her small community and church family as a loving and empathetic person who was always generous with her time and support to her many friends and family. She had a great many adventures in travels and had several friends across the country she was dutiful in maintaining relationships with. Her home held a treasure trove of letters and mementos, and she could tell you a story about each one. Her much loved dogs were her children, and she had a great affinity for all animals, donating to numerous shelters and rescues. Her faith was an unwavering constant, and she delighted in any opportunity to volunteer her time to her beloved church home. Many will miss her sweet disposition and quirky sense of humor.

Jan is preceded in death by her mother and father, Mildred and Fred Buntebart, as well as her cherished sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Everett Holbrook. She is survived by her nephew and his wife, Adam and Jennifer Holbrook, as well as many adored friends and neighbors.

Memorial donations may be given to your local SPCA or to her Church. The family of Janet Buntebart wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her church family at Christ Episcopal Church and her neighbors and friends in the Old Town Village subdivision.
