Ronald Elton Barnes, 70, of Clyde Township, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016.

He was born April 15, 1946 in Port Huron to the late Delbert and Thelma Barnes. He married Ina G. Welsh on December 4, 1965 in North Street.

Mr. Barnes was employed with General Motors Orion Assembly Plant for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He was a 35-year member of the Ruby Lions Club, a 13-year veteran of the Clyde Township Fire Department and a member of the Ruby United Methodist Church. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and being with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ina; two sons, Donald (Barb) Barnes and Rodney (Angela) Barnes; a daughter, Teresa (John) Elliott; six grandchildren, Courtney, Nicholas and Matthew Berggren, Michael Reliford, Natasha Randolph and Mary Barnes; eight great grandchildren, Daniel Robert Berggren, Christopher Allen Todak, Kalie Denise Stager, Caleb and Natalie Randolph, Dakota Reliford, and Trenton and Kayson Stone; four brothers, Lyle (Jan) Barnes, Larry (Pam) Barnes, Delbert Barnes and Robert (Linda) Barnes; two sisters, Wanda (Russ) Ingles and Sandra Barnes; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harley and George Barnes.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Pastor Don Wojewski of Ruby United Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Courtney, Nicholas and Matthew Berggren, Larry Beiser, Rodney Barnes and John Elliott.
