Dale E. Ashton 67, of Lake, Michigan passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Lansing, after a short battle with cancer.  He was born, April 27, 1946 in Port Huron, the son of the later Robert and Mary Ashton. He married Karolyn Lewandowski on April 10, 1970 in Port Huron.

Dale worked at Hill's garage for many years and later was employed as corrections office at the Macomb Prison. He was an avid bowler who loved to golf, hunt and spend time with his grandchildren up north.

He is survived by his wife Karolyn E. Ashton; a son, Michael (Jennifer) Ashton of Lansing; grandchildren, Andrew and Alexa Ashton of Lansing; a daughter Lori (Joe Lozano) of North Carolina, grandchildren Jeremy, Amanda, and Nicole of North Carolina; a great grandson Jack, of North Carolina; a brother, Robert (Jaylene) Ashton of Florida, a sister Mary Burdan of Port Huron; a brother-in-law Butch (Judy) HIlls of Port Huron; and many nices and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Sonny Ashton and a sister Shirley HIlls.

Funeral services will be held at 7pm Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Reverend Harley Thomas will officiate.
