David Schultz

Pfc. David O. Schultz 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. Schultz, 1338 Gillett St. was killed May 4, in Vietnam where he has been since Feb. 28.  Pfc. Schultz was born March 1946 in Port Huron.  He was graduated by Port Huron High School in 1964 and attended St. Clair County Community College.  He entered the Army Sept. 13, 1967, took basic training at Fort Knox, KY., and an advanced training course at Fort McClellan, AL.  Pfc Schultz was an employee of Mueller Brass Co. before he entered the service.  He is survived by his parents; a sister, Pamela J. Schultz, Port Huron; grandmothers, Mrs. Cora Chadwick and Mrs. Martha Schultz, both of Croswell; and aunts, uncles and cousins.  Schultz lettered in basketball and tennis at Port Huron Junior College.  He was a guard on the JC team which won the Michigan Junior College Conference basketball title in 1964-65, and shared the title with Alpena Community College in 1965-66.  He was also the No. 3 singles player for the Skippers' net team for two seasons, and helped the Skippers finish second in the conference tournament in 1965.  He also won varsity letters in tennis and basketball at Port Huron High, graduating in 1964.

Greetings,

Dave was a such special guy. He always had a smile and enjoyed having fun that impacted the success of those around him. I remember a highschool basketball game where he threw a pass behind his back to another player on the team, just having fun, and it led to a basket. That was Dave ... he made things fun for everyone.  

I was thinking about you, Dave, this Memorial Day weekend. I just want to express my appreciation for your service to our country and your final sacrifice; as well as the positive impact you had on those around you!
