Alan R Perry, 26, of 821 Jenkinson St, died about 10:40 am Tuesday, May 29, 1972, in Yale Hospital from injuries he suffered in an accident about 7:45 am at M-19 and Norman Rd in Brockway Township.

Deputy Sheriff Dan E Lane said Perry was driving north on M-19 when the car skidded off the shoulder of the road and rolled over four times. Deputy Lane said there were nearly 250 of skid marks.  Perry is the thirty-fifth traffic fatality for St. Clair County since Jan 1.  The total compares with the 32 persons killed in traffic accidents in the county during 1971.

Mr Perry was born Jan 5, 1946 in Port Huron. He was a graduate of Port Huron High School and attended Eastern Michigan College of Commerce.

Mr Perry worked for the St. Clair County Board of Auditors from 1963-1968, beginning as a co-op student and later as a full time bookkeeper.

He and Nancy E Thomson were married Oct 8, 1966.  He was a member of the Church of God.  

Mr. Perry is survived by his widow; two daughters, Cherie E Perry and Kimberly S. Perry; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon H. Perry; a sister, Mrs. Randall Thompson, Carsonville; and two brothers, Donald Perry, Port Huron, and LeRoy Perry, Flint.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Friday in the Church of God.  Rev. Clinton Scott, pastor, will officiate.  Jerry Russel, Robert Hamilton, Wayne Carson, Robert Stein, Larry Sanders, Charles Blythe Jr., Charles Harneck and Robert Sheffer will be the pallbearers.  Memorials may be made to the Church of God.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  The remains are in Arthur Smith Funeral Home and will be removed at 10 am Friday to the Church.
